1.What is New Japan Pro Wrestling?

New Japan Pro Wrestling, or NJPW, is a Japan-based wrestling promotion with one of the largest popular followings today. It was originally founded in 1972 by legendary wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki. A commonly used term when discussing NJPW is ‘gaijin,’ which means someone not from Japan.

 

2.What is NJPW’s biggest show of the year?

NJPW's biggest event is the Wrestle Kingdom that takes place on January 4th every year.

4.Where can I watch New Japan Pro Wrestling?

NJPW World paid streaming service is the only way to watch the majority of NJPW shows live and on-demand with commentary both in Japanese and English. Another option is AXS TV, a weekly highlight show that reviews matches from recent shows.

5.Where to start watching NJPW?

Big Tall Japan recommends that you start with Wrestle Kingdom, where there is English commentary. Also, you can watch their next upcoming big event. From these shows, you can get familiar with NJPW’s best and most important talents and stories.

From that point, you can subscribe to the NJPW World paid streaming service or watch random matches or live new events.

 

6. How to buy NJPW tickets from outside Japan?

-NJPW offers an official site for fans living overseas. However, this site only offers tickets after pre-sales have finished, therefore some best seats may be sold out in advance.

-You can also buy tickets through the NJPW fan club, where you need to pay membership fees and enter the fan club preorder lottery system to get the best seat tickets.

-Third party services, like BuySumoTickets and Voyagin. When a certain block/seat ticket is sold out, they can help you to get tickets from the resale market.

7. How to cancel NJPW World?

You can cancel your NJPW World subscription by unsubscribing online. Beware that if you unsubscribe, your membership will be discontinued immediately, even if you still have weeks left until your next billing cycle. Your account will also be deleted. If you decide that you want to use this service again, you need to create a new account.

 

8. Who owns NJPW?

New Japan Pro Wrestling was founded in 1972 by Japanese wrestling legend Antonio Inoki and is currently owned by Bushiroad. Owing to its TV program aired on TV Asahi, NJPW is the largest professional wrestling promotion in Japan, and the second largest promotion in the world.

 

9. Can I watch NJPW on PS4?

NJPW is not yet working on PS4. However, there are still some available tools to help you watch smoothly.

Amazon Fire Stick provides an excellent experience, is easy to navigate, offers HD picture quality, and provides English language without buffering.

Roku is a free app on the App Store. Once you download it and log in to NJPW World through it, you can select a video to play and it directly shows on your TV browser.

 

10. Does NJPW have a weekly show?

NJPW does not currently have a weekly television show in the style of WWE’s Raw or SmackDown Live programs. They have their own “Road To” shows leading into larger events. The monthly amount of shows depends on how many major events are scheduled for that month. They have weekly show in Japan on TV Asahi.
